According to TDH Child Health and Safety Initiative dental decay is the number one progressive disease affecting children in this country.   Dental Services are often not covered by insurance which can greatly impact a parents ability to care for the whole child. In order to help you in the vital health component the Mobile Dentist is returning to Anderson February 23-26Th.  Not only does the dentist examine your child but their teeth are x-rayed, cleaned and some will qualify for sealants!  All this and you do not have to miss work!  As of January 25th 80 students have opted to participate in this service. You can learn more about the program at www.mobiledentists.com or give me a call at school.

The Mobile Dentist will be at Kurth April 19Th through 23rd. Watch for your Kurth dental forms February 2010!

Vision and hearing screening once again revealed the strain on a student's eyes.  The importance of vision can not be stressed too much. The difference good vision can make on a students learning is well documented. So if I sent a referral to you PLEASE take the time to have our student checked by a specialist.

Also I can register you in IMMTRAC, the state database, this year.  This is a huge convenience for you and your care giver (as long as they enter your vaccines in IMMTRAC). I can search the entire state database for you  saving you time and effort! No more faxing from the doctor's office  or you going to the Health Department to get a copy then bring to the school.   Finally I can  print off a copy that has all the immunizations available in the database.  The only record not on IMMTRAC is the PPD/TB skin test.
